Our Prayer Requests

Our Pastor at our home church often reminds the church of this truth: "Prayer can do anything God can do." If I really took that to heart and believed it fully, it would not only change HOW I prayed but how OFTEN I prayed!

We believe prayer to the One True God works in ways that nothing else does. So we list our prayer requests each month and ask you to pray for one or all of them, expecting the Lord to answer! Thanks, in advance, for your prayers for us and for the couples the Lord is bringing!

Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament. Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to You I pray. In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:1-3

June 2021

GOD LEADING: In the midst of our transition from Marriage Revolution to Abiding Marriage, it is easy to get lost in the many, many things to do OR to get overwhelmed by all that needs to get done. Pray that we would truly keep God in His rightful place during this super-busy season. That we could continue to pursue the Lord as our "first love" and trust Him to continue to lead us, day-by-day, and step-by-step!

BOARD OF DIRECTORS: As a non-profit ministry, Abiding Marriage will need to have a Board of Directors. Please pray earnestly that God ALONE would be directing who those people will be. This is a pivotal season and we need the right people to be used by God to help direct our every step.

LOTS OF SYSTEMS TO PUT IN PLACE: There are lots and lots of systems we need to get in place for Abiding Marriage to exist and thrive. This includes things like a scheduling system for counseling clients, donation software for folks to give their gifts, and many more. Please pray, with the many choices available, that the Lord would lead us to the right solutions that will be in place for years to come and serve the needs of the ministry well!

LEGAL STUFF: Starting a non-profit ministry like Abiding Marriage requires a lot of legal paperwork - both with the State of Arkansas, and the federal government. We have enlisted the services of a highly-recommended attorney here in Little Rock to help facilitate this as quickly as possible. Please pray that God would give us favor in getting these legal requirements completed in the next 3-4 months - no later than year-end.

HONORING GOD AND OTHERS: Finally, pray that, in the midst of this transition, we would honor the Lord, honor Hans and the leadership of Marriage Revolution, and all the others involved in this process. Ultimately, we strongly desire to see God glorified and His Kingdom built in every step of this process!

May 2021

OUR TEAM: Please continue to pray for our Marriage Revolution Team in Houston, Dallas, and Little Rock. First, that the Lord would be working deeply in our lives, marriages, and families. And secondly, that the overflow of that deep work would be life-transforming ministry to others.

BROADENING OUR REACH: One of the prayers of the Marriage Revolution Board, leadership, and Team is to broaden our reach to couples. Please be praying as, later this year, we launch a new opportunity to bring biblical help and hope to couples all over our country and around the world! More details coming.

TRAVEL THIS MONTH: Pray for some travel this month for our family. A short trip to see Glen's parents in Tennessee. A weekend trip to Northern Arkansas to see some dear friends. And our kids and some friends of theirs heading to the Gulf Coast of Florida for a week-long vacation. Appreciate your prayers for safe travel and also for good health as well!

MOTHER'S DAY AND FATHER'S DAY: Please pray for Shawn and I to truly honor our parents this year on Father's and Mother's Day. We are also praying that all of us who still have parents who are alive will find appropriate ways to honor them as the Scripture exhorts us. GOD LEADING: In the midst of our transition from Marriage Revolution to Abiding Marriage, it is continually a temptation to get lost in the many, many things to do OR to get overwhelmed by all that needs to get done. Pray that we would truly keep God in His rightful place during this super-busy season. BOARD OF DIRECTORS UPDATE: Thankful for your prayers last month! God has placed two great men on our Board and we are seeking the Lord for the third person. Please continue to pray that in this pivotal season, God would direct our Board in each and every step we take!

SYSTEMS IN PLACE UPDATE: Again, thanks for your prayers last month! We have several key systems in place, but still need God's direction and discernment for some other systems. Thanks for praying the Spirit of God would be filling and controlling us as we follow His lead in making these decisions.

LEGAL STUFF UPDATE: We are thankful that the Lord has gotten our initial legal paperwork in the State of Arkansas completed. Now we are on to other legal decisions as well as the paperwork required with the Federal Government to be a 501(c)(3). Please pray that God would give us favor in getting these legal requirements completed in the next 3-4 months - no later than year-end.

REVIVAL IN THE CHURCH: As we have shared previously, many in the church feel we are on the “brink” of a spiritual revival in our country. I (Glen) am personally praying that, as Christ-followers, our concern for our nation will move to true brokenness. And then that brokenness will result in us crying out to the Lord to bring revival in our own hearts, then in our local churches, and finally sweeping across our nation and around the world!

NEXT GENERATION: You may have heard someone say "We are in a battle for the next generation". We believe that is true and the battle is one that we should be fighting as Christ-followers. Please pray with us for God to raise up Godly leaders in the next generation - the Billy Grahams and Bill Brights that will continue to unashamedly share the Gospel. Let's do our part in prayer!

MARRIAGE REVOLUTION: That God would help us reach couples and individuals in 2021, in greater numbers, but also in greater depth of transformation.

In addition to the wedding, we also plan to see some of our Ministry Partners in that area. Please pray for both safe travel and great connections at the wedding and with our Ministry Partners.

OUR FAMILY IN 2021: Shawn is celebrating her birthday this month! Don't know exactly how we will celebrate, but thankful for your prayers for Shawn. Giving thanks for another year of life and God's goodness and grace in the midst of the ups and downs of our lives!

OUR NATION: As we shared last month, please continue praying for God to revive His Church in this country and around the world. It must start with us! We know the only lasting solution to all the issues we are facing is each person hearing and responding to the Gospel, and then wholeheartedly following Christ. We are praying for deep brokenness in all of us as the Body of Christ. And the first result of that brokenness would be crying out to Him in deep prayers of repentance and faith.

SPIRIT-LED, CHRIST-CENTERED COUNSELING: The DNA of our ministry and each of our staff is to give Christ-centered and Spirit-led counsel to every couple and individual coming. Please pray that each counselor would truly be dependent on the Spirit in each session. And pray that everything we do and say would continually point to Christ, our Savior!

OUR FAMILY IN 2021: We celebrated our son, Caleb's, 21st birthday last month, and are celebrating our Sarah's 23rd this month! Thankful for the joy of being parents and the privilege to pray for all three of our kids to wholeheartedly follow Him!

OUR NATION: Many have been praying for revival in our country for years or even decades. As Christ-followers, we know the only lasting solution is each person hearing and responding to the Gospel, and then wholeheartedly following Christ. Please pray for this revival to break out in 2021 and begin a deep healing in our nation and a great influx of souls into God's Kingdom!

UPWARD FOCUS THIS SEASON: As we shared earlier, our prayer is that this Christmas season would be one of the greatest celebrations of Immanuel for our family, and for yours. Let's intentionally make time to do this. The greatest Giver gave the greatest gift - Himself - so that we could be reconciled to Him!!

CONTINUED PRAYERS FOR OUR COUNTRY: Please continue to pray for the Lord to bring spiritual revival, first in His Church, and then in a broader way in our country. We truly believe this is the only real way to bring real lasting change for all of us.

GIVING THANKS AS A COUPLE: As some of you know, Shawn and I took time on November 28th to thank God for another wedding anniversary - our 28th! And although we did spend time together that day, we are "officially getting away" for a few days mid-December to truly celebrate and spend time together. Appreciate your prayers of thanksgiving to God for His great grace over those 28 years AND for His continued help for what we hope are many more years of growing in our relationship with Him and with each other!

FOR OUR COUNTRY: With all the division in our country, we would love for you to begin or continue praying for the Lord to bring revival, first in His Church, and then in a broader way in our country. This is the only real way to bring real change to the tensions we all feel in this great country in which we live!

GIVING THANKS: We are so thankful, as a ministry, to share that October 2020 was our best month ever for helping couples. Between our four offices in Texas and Arkansas, we completed a total of just over 350 sessions. Thankful for the couples the Lord is bringing and the transformation He desires in each one!

October 2020

PRAISE FROM SEPTEMBER: Thanks so much for your prayers last month for our Team Meeting in Houston. We had a great time learning and connecting together over 2 1/2 days and there were no issues with travel, safety, or sickness! Thank You Lord!

LEADERSHIP WISDOM: Please pray for the Marriage Revolution Board of Directors and Leadership, that the Lord would give them supernatural discernment and wisdom in all areas, but especially in moving forward with the growth we are experiencing as a ministry.

LOCAL CHURCH LEADERSHIP: Many of you, like us, have been praying for our local church pastors/leadership in this season of COVID-19. We want to encourage you to continue to pray steadfastly for wisdom and courage in leading for those pastors/leaders. This is a time for the Lord's Church to have vision to grow and expand the Kingdom. So let's be steadfast in praying for that supernatural vision and wisdom for those leaders!

REVIVAL IN OUR NATION: As we had shared previously, please continue steadfastly praying for our nation and its leadership. The only real answer for all that ails our hearts and our nation is the life-transforming power of a relationship with Jesus. Let's commit to pray in expectation for a great revival. It starts with the prayers of the Body of Christ!

OUR TEAM MEETING THIS MONTH: As we shared in our update above, please pray for our Team for 1) travel safety, 2) for growth and connection, 3) for logistics and details, and 4) for protection for all of us from COVID-19.

FAMILY ITEMS: Please pray for Caleb as he has begun his new semester at college and takes care of his responsibilities at school and for his job. Pray also for increased hours at his job. Pray for protection and safety for Sarah as she continues her Nanny business and serves and loves on families and kids. Pray also for her continued work with the youth at our church. Pray for Josh as he goes through a very intense time of training for becoming a firefighter and EMT. He will finish up in mid-December. Thanks also for praying for each of our kids to intentionally grow in their relationship with the Lord and connect with other Christ-followers that can help them along the way.
